Zoey's Nursery

After we moved in, the first thing I just had to do was to get Miss Zoey's room ready before she arrived. Brian and his friend put together the crib, Mom and Hallie helped me organize all her stuff, and my Dad helped me hang her things on the walls. I love the way it turned out and couldn't be more excited to bring our sweet girl home to her very own room!

Putting together the crib!

Laying out where we want everything.

Rhys decorating his "house" while we were busy working!

Zoey's toy box was a piece I found at the furniture auction in Palestine and painted.  Then I hung a deer, moose, and bear silhouette's I made with extra fabric and framed.

I hung her "lil deer" banner from her shower over the closet doors

I painted arrows and hun them above a little book shelf I got at an auction with the wardrobe. Both were painted.

Her crib, I made all the bedding, and the deer head with flowers for antlers that Kiki made.

Dad sitting in the glider, and the changing table/dresser. I also found all the mirrors at resale and junk stores and painted them to match the room.

We finally hung curtains and were finished with Zoey's nursery.

This has nothing to do with the nursery but, look at the cute door hanger Brian's mom made for us!

Moving Day

After 6-7 months of building, the big day was finally here!!! I was 9 months pregnant, and scheduled to be induced the next week, but we made it and got to move into our home. There are still a few things that need to be done before the house is completly finished, but we love our house and are so excited to be all moved in!

Brian installed door knobs on all the doors a few days before we moved in. Lola was a great helper!

One of the new things we wanted to have right away- a big table for the dining area.

We also had to get new living room furniture. My one couch wasn't going to make the cut for this big open area!

The view from the back door.

our island.

Brian and his dad poured the concrete countertops, we still needed to seal them, so they were covered in plastic and taped off for the fist week we were home.

This was my "spot" while the boys moved us in. I was impressed that my ancles weren't swoellen and I could still wear tennis shoes! The count down was 6 days until Zoey!

House Update

It's been so long since I posted an update on the house! Instead of explaining what all has happened I'll let the pictures do the talking:

We had a visitor from up the steet! I really wanted to keep it

Brick was Delivered

Cabinets have been installed- this is my side of the bathroom.

Clay trimmed the office, living room, and kitchen in alder wood.

Our fire place and start to the built in cabinets

We have two hall closets, one outside of each of the guest bedrooms

One side of the Jack and Jill Bath.

Brian's finished dog pins. Lola gets the center one. Since these have been complete, we have added three dogs to our collection. I will post a blog about them soon! We have Rue & Indie a brother and sister pair of Yellow-Black-Mouth-Cur (I'm probably misspelling that) puppies. Then we have Willie, a plot hound, that I am starting to LOVE!

Before the brick was added to the front of the house

It rained one day while the brickers were working, so they did the rock fire place in one day!

I also had a brick accent wall planned for the dining area, I was told I wasn't going to get it because we upgraded our insulation, but I was suprised with it anyway! I feel so spoiled to be getting everything I wan in this house!

Clay built and installed a sliding barn door for the office, another addition I asked for.

Our walk in shower almost complete

Finished rock and Brick outside

We bricked the island too

Tiled guest shower

Brian and his dad added these beams to the area between the kitchen and living room. I think they are Brian's favorite part of the house

Its hard to see, but we stained the cabinets really dark.

This is one of the walls in my closet.

This wall is the back of my closet- the box in the center is for my wedding dress that I got preserved after the wedding.

This is the other side wall of my closet.

My samples for the granite. I picked out the darker one, but had to go with the light one after finsing out they didn't have enough of the dark to get it to us and installed when we needed it.

We are moving this weekend! I will post pictures of the final product ASAP!

Family Baby Shower

My sweet family threw Zoey a shower. It was so nice to see all my aunts and cousins and celebrate Miss Zo.

We played a game where everyone had to guess how big around my belly was, My mother-in-law won.

I took pictures with most of the family that was there when we were about to leave.

Rhys Man, and Grandma at the shower!

It was a very special day and I am so lucky to be apart of such a great family!
